Total reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry

A lowest limit of detection down to the ppb range is achieved with the S2 PICOFOX. In a mining environment this instrument is used for testing mine waters and soil for contamination with heavy metals such as Cd or Hg. For example Mercury can be analysed in water with good precision when concentration levels are above about 30 µg/l.
