Portable XRF (PXRF) Analyzers are fast, non-destructive tools used to analyze water, soil and crops for heavy metals; and, they are incorporated in regulatory methods to screen soils.

Although marijuana is not yet regulated for toxic metal content, PXRF is a fast method for screening its plants and processed goods for dangerous levels of these metals.

Handheld XRF (HH-XRF) is also used to monitor high metal levels  in water and soil caused by climate change, anthropogenic pollution and catastrophic geological or extreme weather events.
