IR Biotyper for microbial quality control

To ensure the quality and consistency of the products derived from beneficial microorganisms, QC strategies are crucial in monitoring biotechnological manufacturing. Strain typing of the technological strains is essential to assure meeting the predefined quality of product intermediates and final product.

With the IR Biotyper, strain typing and data analyses are achieved in less than 3 hours, enabling real-time monitoring of technological processes. 

Easy implementation in the lab

Needing only 30 minutes for the sample preparation of a maximum of 30 isolates, Bruker’s IR Biotyper strain typing solution is easy to implement in a routine laboratory workflow.
The IR Biotyper provides data in three different reporting styles: Distance Matrix, Dendrogram, and Scatter plot analyses. All three reporting styles have proven to be effective and results have been validated to be comparable to molecular methods for grouping of specific microbial serotypes.1,2

Complementing the MALDI Biotyper®

IR spectroscopy is well suited for strain characterization, and when paired with Bruker’s MALDI Biotyper® MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry system, the combination provides identification via MALDI-TOF and IR strain typing in just 3 hours through a seamless workflow.
