1:00pm - 2:30pm

(Workshop 1A)

The Spectroscopist in the console; little-known imbedded tools to aid in spectrometer maintenance and experiment setup

Speaker: Amy Freund

In this workshop we will discuss tools that are imbedded within Topspin which help in setting up the spectrometer. These tools help throughout the entire workflow; from maintenance to experiment preparation with your sample, to data acquisition. Whether you are working with solids or proteins or small molecules, running experiments for ligand binding or structure elucidation, this workshop will help you.

Integrated and Efficient NMR Tools for Fragment-Based Screening and Bilogics HOS

Speaker: Donna Balisseri ,and Chen Peng

Hardware and software toolkits for acquiring and analyzing NMR data for Fragment-Based Drug Discovery (FBDD) and Higher Order Structure (HOS) of protein therapeutics will be presented. NMR tools for FBDD and Biologics HOS acquisition pipelines will be detailed, including SamplePro Tube and SampleJet for sample handling, optimized pulse programs and parameter sets for highest quality NMR data and, best CryoProbe choices for the targeted application. Using NMR data from a screening campaign, we will demonstrate how to use the Fragment-Based Screening (FBS) tool to organize the raw data of reference and screening spectra and import them to Mnova Screen for batch processing and analysis, resulting in a list of hits for the user to conveniently visualize and verify.

2:45pm - 4:15pm

(Workshop 2B)

EMXnano: Making EPR accessible

Speaker: Kalina Ranguelova

This workshop introduces the technical aspects and capabilities of the bench-top Bruker EMXnano spectrometer. In addition, hands-on demonstrations of several EPR experiments with attendee participation will be performed. Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) is the best technique for shedding light on radical reactions and processes because of its unique ability to detect unambiguously paramagnetic species in a direct and non-intrusive manner. The technique is very versatile because it identifies, quantifies and analyzes the intrinsic generation of short-lived species. It is therefore extremely useful for detecting free radical reactions in many fields of study such as pharmaceutical, polymer, material, environmental, and food sciences.

Cypress 3 and 4
4:15pm - 4:30pmCoffee Break

4:30pm - 6:00pm

(Workshop 3)

General Tips & Tricks

Speaker: Eric Johnson, Wolfgang Bermel, and Rainer Kümmerle

New Experiments: A number of experiments have been added to the release lately and some new functionality added for pulseprograms. Examples will be presented. This includes experiments like Utopia, Clip_COSY, Double Quantum Spectroscopy (SAQS), selective and band-selective excitation as well as APSY.
