FlashNote: Metabolomics workflows? Sustainability please!
Non-targeted data processing in metabolomics is a time consuming task. It is often unavoidable to find yourself lost in a forest of peaks, wondering what is important – and more critically how you can find it. Non-targeted data processing in metabolomics is a time consuming task. It is often unavoidable to find yourself lost in a forest of peaks, wondering what is important – and more critically how you can find it. Eventually, a more effective workflow with tools like statistical treatment, annotation, and data base interrogation can be established – which can be quite a relief. So when a beloved tool of your pipeline gets withdrawn or discontinued, it can be a serious setback. Thankfully, with Bruker's MetaboScape® software, you get the best of both worlds: Open source flexibility and trusted sustainability!

The activity of most therapeutic antibodies is directed by their ability to link to a target antigen. Localizing the amino acids (AAs) responsible for this interaction is mandatory from a mechanistic point of view, but also for intellectual property protection. Epitope mapping is performed with an array of techniques, including hydrogen exchange mass spectrometry (HX-MS). With HX-MS solvent accessibility of the polypeptide backbone is measured and related to the proteins secondary structureas well as monitoring conformational changes occurring during antigen binding.

App Note: LCMS-78 Automated Analysis of Protein Sequence Variants, 12-2012 (8704819)
Here we describe an automated UPLC-MS based method for the analysis and quality confirmation of the intact mass for protein sequence variants. The automated workflow is implemented using Bruker Daltonics’ Biopharma CompassTM software which allows for data acquisition, processing and
analysis to occur with minimal user intervention.
