The measurement of mechanical and interfacial properties of materials is an important parameter of many quality control programs. Conformance to mechanical property and interfacial adhesion specifications can be challenging when manufacturing technologically advanced, small-scale materials in high volume manufacturing environments.

Bruker has developed a broad range of nanomechanical testing equipment to continuously monitor mechanical and interfacial properties to assure products meet design and customer specifications. Designed for the quality control of thin films and small structural features, these techniques provide quantitative measurements of hardness, modulus, viscoelastic, and interfacial adhesion properties at the nanoscale-to-microscale. Nanomechanical metrology systems are available in automated standalone to fully process-integrated configurations to meet low volume to high volume quality control testing needs.
