Bruker history

The Bruker family of companies owes its existence to Prof Dr Günther Laukien who already in the 1950s recognized the power of high-resolution systems and the need for impulse spectrometers.

In 1960, Dr Laukien set out to fill this need by establishing Bruker Physik-AG in Karlsruhe. The development of NMR spectrometers began with the production of laboratory magnets and power supplies. Since its foundation, Bruker has been developing and delivering groundbreaking analytical solutions such as new infrared and benchtop spectrometers, mobile defibrillators and MRI instruments.

Today, Bruker’s state-of-the-art systems cover a broad spectrum of applications in all fields of research and development. They are used in all industrial production processes for the purpose of ensuring quality and process reliability. As one of the world’s leading analytical instrumentation companies, Bruker continues to build upon its extensive range of products and solutions, its broad base of installed systems and its strong reputation with its customers.
