Bruker’s CTX is a safe, sophisticated, self-contained, portable energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF) spectrometer ideal for advanced alloy and metal testing, positive material identification (PMI) and precious metal analysis. Please contact our product team to find out how the CTX solve your alloy analysis needs.
CTX relies on industry-leading EDXRF technology, which helps determine the elemental composition of any alloys. As an obvious application, when run to test a true coin of sterling silver, the Bruker CTX reads the elemental energy magnitudes of the two components (silver at 22.163 keV; copper at 8.046 keV) to verify the coin’s composition as made up of 92.5% Ag and 7.5% Cu. The CTX is used to:
- Identify alloys of gold (Au), silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd) and other precious metals
- Determine gold karat rating (our precious metal application comes with a karat library, single phase)
- Test metallic powders, shavings, slivers, and large pieces
- Analyze auto-catalysts for precious metals recovery
