Due to its strengths like versatility, resolution and soft tissue contrast, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides multiple advantages for Molecular Imaging applications. In particular Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) agents represent a prominent example of MR-based Molecular Imaging probes. One virtue of CEST agents is that their MRI contrast can be turned "on" by choosing the agent`s selective irradiation frequency. Importantly, this feature allows the visualization of different CEST agents in the same setting. The continual improvement of the agents and techniques in recent years makes CEST MRI a promising tool for Molecular Imaging research.
This webinar will focus on the latest advances of the CEST molecular imaging technique and state-of-the-art CEST imaging agents including:
- LipoCEST agents providing an increased sensitivity and thus enabling a strong CEST contrast
- CellCEST with the potential to visualize cells in vivo
