My Day: Monika, Personal Executive Assistant

„I joined Bruker BioSpin in Rheinstetten after completing a qualification as industrial business management assistant. Today, I work as Personal Executive Assistant to Mr Joerg Laukien, Chief Operating Officer of the Bruker BioSpin companies.“

Mrs Lamprecht‘s role at Bruker includes many varying responsibilities and tasks such as helping managers to make the best use of their time by dealing with several administrative tasks. She closely works with senior and directorial staff to provide administrative support. She needs extensive knowledge of the Bruker organization and requires good organizational skills because she is the managers‘ first point of contact with external and internal people. Mrs Lamprecht really likes to interact with people from all countries, cultures and professional backgrounds.

8:00 a.m.

My day starts with doing the daily staff canteen accounting, which I am entrusted with. Following this, I have to start with the organization of our annual staff outing.

10:30 a.m.

Now it’s time to tend to incoming email, faxes and posts. Then I start to organize and maintain calendars and make appointments for management.

2:30 p.m.

My afternoon is filled with organizational and office activities. I need to arrange travel visas and accommodation, then I do research for a presentation that has to be held by management abroad, which  is to be done in English, of course.

6:00 p.m.

After I’ve produced some documents, briefing papers and presentations, I leave for today. I love to take part in sports and exercise in the fresh air - biking, hiking, running and skiing. The weather is wonderful, so I decide to walk home.
