Achieve routine IFS by cutting edge technology

Compared to other FTMS techniques solariX features a combination of latest MRMS, ParaCell and Magnetron control technology. This is prerequisite for the highest possible mass spec resolving power available and results in routine access to isotopic fine structure (IFS) information for a broad mass range.

Read the elemental composition for confident results

IFS delivers an additional dimension of information missing in data from other types of mass spectrometers. Exploiting solariX XR and solariX 2xR IFS capability, not only is the mass of the analyte measured but also its elemental constituents pinpointed. Combined with Brukers SmartFormula algorithms, assignment of sum formulas can be done with utmost confidence.

solariX instruments: Forging Productivity from Innovation

Bruker's solariX XR and solariX 2xR are the result of our tradition of technological innovation. These instruments' core technologies include a ParaCell Detector, Absorption Mode Processing and magnetron control techniques. Together with unmatched mass accuracy this enables routine Isotopic Fine Structure (IFS) analysis for a broad mass range. A wide range of source technologies available for the solariX series allow application of these techniques to a wide variety of samples for flexible experiment and workflow design.

Patented ParaCell detector

The ParaCell is the enabling technology for solariX XR and 2xR. This detector concept is a departure from traditional MRMS cell strategies and provides uncommon broadband ion stability resulting in resolution orders of magnitude above other detection schemes. The ParaCell in combination with Absorption Mode Processing algorithms is the prerequisite for routine access to Isotopic Fine Structure (IFS) Information.

2xR technology realizes scientific visions and increased prodcuctivity

Brukers 2xR solariX instruments uses magnetron control technology and a newly developed, high sensitivity, low noise preamplifier, realizing scientists long standing vision to exploit harmonics detection schemes  and thus increasing the experimental speed and instrument productivity.

Optional ESI/MALDI dual source

solariX series instruments allow for operation of a unique ESI/MALDI dual source. This optional source can either run liquid samples introduced via the Electrospray ionization (ESI) source or from MALDI samples. This highly sensitive MALDI source uses  Brukers SmartBeam-II™ laser technology and provides several small focus diameters for various applications with different sample preparation techniques. Fast switchover between MALDI and ESI operation is controlled by a software pushbutton, so even simultaneous ESI/MALDI operation is possible.

Discover previously hidden information to proof your results

Bruker's eXtreme Resolution Magnetic Resonance Mass Spectrometry (MRMS) technology enables scientists to see vital "hidden" information that is missing in data from other types of mass spectrometers. This advanced technology addresses the needs of specialists in a variety of focus areas that all desire efficient and precise solutions for their analytical problems. The unique value of this technology is Isotopic Fine Structure (IFS), resulting in unmatched confidence for compound identification that previously required guesswork.

High Resolution MALDI imaging

MRMS offers unrivaled mass resolving power and outstanding mass accuracy in the ppb range. This results in high resolution MALDI imaging data with the ability of straightforward identification of compounds from tissue directly with utmost confidence. Label-free molecular visualization is an enormous advantage in comparison to radioactive labeling procedures, such as whole-body autoradiography.

‘Phenotyping’ by Magnetic Resonance Mass Spectrometry (MRMS)

MRMS eXtreme Resolution enables the acceleration of sample throughput in phenomics and discovery metabolomics research by omitting time consuming chromatography. Flow Injection analysis (FIA) or MALDI based workflows provide access to compounds not readily detectable by LC-MS analysis and simultaneously analyze known and unknown metabolites.

Molecular Classification of Petroleum

A detailed knowledge of the exact chemical composition of crude oil and crude oil fractions is essential for the oil industry. Crude oils with similar or even identical bulk chemical properties can behave completely different. Therefore, detailed information on relative abundances of those problematic compound classes is of major interest to e.g. optimize processes.  Understanding the molecular compositional of petroleum allows for the prediction of its behavior and properties as well as environmental fingerprinting.
