Being Conscious of Unconscious Bias

On September 10, 2020, members of Bruker's global HR and Legal departments attended a workshop on spotting unconscious bias and recognizing the power of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Bruker attendees spanned the globe, from the United States, Europe and APAC. The workshop was led by a team of professionals from Bentley University's Center for Women in Business.

Being Conscious of Unconscious Bias

On September 10, 2020, members of Bruker's global HR and Legal departments and on January 21, 2021, members of Bruker’s global senior leadership team attended a workshop on spotting unconscious bias and recognizing the power of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Bruker attendees spanned the globe, from the United States, Europe and APAC. The workshop was led by a team of professionals from Bentley University's Center for Women in Business.

Bruker employees who attended this interactive workshop learned about:

  • The business case for inclusive leadership - how it impacts the success of the industry as well as our customers, stakeholders, and employees
  • Why and how unconscious bias impacts all corporate cultures and all individuals
  • The critical role of micro-inequities and how they work against an inclusive culture
  • How to more easily accept and support individual differences among all employees
  • How to welcome, encourage, and participate in respectful workplace discussions across differences
  • Specific strategies and tools to overcome the negative impacts of unconscious bias and become more inclusive

Bruker attendees also received a post-workshop toolkit to enable them to incorporate their learnings into their daily work interactions.
