Since it takes huge investments and many years to bring new drugs to market, it is crucial to improve the throughput of testing – especially in early phases. Preclinical imaging can dramatically increase the efficiency and pace of drug discovery and development. Bruker also offers EDS in SEM/T-STEM and STEM, which is a particularly useful if many elements in a material have to be determined at once. This is the case for quite a few life science applications, such as bio-mineralization (dentistry, bone), the hard-soft interface (joint replacements) and imaging of cells, immunolabels and tissue.
