Miniscope and Multi-Site Miniscope Webinars

Cell Types Matter: Probing the Same Neurons Across Different Biological Modalities

Learn how miniscopes and other tools are probing neurons across different biological modalities

Hear about new techniques for integrating measurements across biological scales

During this webinar, Dr. Jan Lui, Stanford University, shares how he takes biological measurements across different modalities. Hear a lively discussion about using novel technology, including Inscopix miniscopes, to probe neurons and better understand how cell types predict function.

Presenter’s Abstract

During this webinar, I will discuss how the same neurons can be characterized in multiple ways and how to combine modalities and technologies to gain more insights. I share examples from my own research where I integrate these modalities (single cell RNA sequencing, viral axon tracing, and Inscopix miniscope imaging) and review new tech, including single cell multiomics, spatial transcriptomics, and barcoded axon tracing—really cool next-gen tools useful for an integrative approach to understanding the complexities of the brain.
