BASIC - CP/MAS Course (WB Systems)

Info:

Introductory Course.

Topics:

  • Basic theory of the interactions in solid state samples and the MAS technique.
  • Introduction of the CP/MAS technique and heteronuclear decoupling techniques.
  • Introduction to Solid State NMR of Spin ½ nuclei (e.g. 13C/15N/29Si/31P).
  • Basic introduction to modern spectrometer concepts.
  • Sample preparation and MAS–spinner handling.
  • Setup and interpretation of 1D – CP/MAS experiments (how to check the probe / shimming /RF calibration / finding HH matching condition).
  • Setup of variable temperature experiments.
  • Setup and evaluation of relaxation measurements on X nuclei and protons.

Remarks:

This course is intended for users of standard-bore solid state NMR instruments with CP/MAS probes.

Prerequisite Qualification:

Basic knowledge of computer handling; the concept of NMR in general and the TOPSPIN software.
