FT-NIR Training Course

Overview

Description:

Our three-day training course educates NIR users on the details of data collection, best NIR practices, and method development for quantitative analysis. The course is intended for users of Bruker Optics FT-NIR spectrometers and will focus on the use of the Quant and OPUSLAB packages within the Bruker Optics Opus software package. The course will consist of lectures, hands-on laboratory teaching sessions, and troubleshooting sessions intended to address problems that users are experiencing within their own applications. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own spectral data files, as well as their Quant method files for personal consultation with our applications personnel.

The course will consist of lectures, laboratories sessions, and demonstrations which emphasize basic principles of FT-NIR instrumentation, data processing, sampling techniques, the OPUS/IR PC software, and introductory instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite:

A working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and a familiarity with your Bruker FT-NIR instrument. The basics aspects of the operating system (e.g. copying files, formatting disks, installing printers) can be practiced in the Tutorial provided with the operating system.

Schedule:

The core course will run from Tuesday to Thursday. Classes start daily at 9:00 AM.

Laptops:

You may bring your laptop and Bruker personnel will install a temporary copy of OPUS on your computer so that you can use it during the course. The computer must have Windows 7 and you must have administrative rights to the laptop to enable OPUS to be installed properly. Sufficient free space must be available to install OPUS. This is not a requirement to attend the course since Bruker will provide computers to be used during the training course.

We will be serving lunch during the training courses, if you have any food allergies or special restrictions, please let us know in advance.

Bruker Optics has special rates with the local hotels, upon your registration, we'll contact you with confirmation and provide you more details.
