Antimicrobial susceptibility testing

BMD MIC-Strip

Determine the true MIC value cost-effectively

Highlights

MIC-Strip

MIC-Strips are quantitative assays using the broth microdilution (BMD) method, for determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of antimicrobial agents (colistin, piperacillin-tazobactam, vancomycin/teicoplanin) against specific microorganisms to indicate appropriate patient treatment and for identifying resistance patterns.

Eigenschaften

All MIC-Strip products offer easy visual interpretation. One pack includes 5 MIC-Strip plates with 8 MIC-Strips (12 wells per strip) totaling 40 tests per box.

The MIC-Strip format permits economic use of AST, adapted to the individual laboratory’s diagnostic requirements. Easy handling combined with basic equipment gives high quality and reliable MIC values and AST results for all MIC-Strip products. No special expertise is required to run these tests and evaluation can be done visually.

MIC-Strip Colistin

Enabling antimicrobial susceptibility testing against the backup antibiotic colistin by using the broth microdilution method, as advised by EUCAST, for Enterobacterales, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumanii group.

BMD is currently the only valid method for MIC determination of colistin.

Colistin concentration range – 0.0625 to 64 mg/L

MIC-Strip Piperacillin-Tazobactam

Enabling antimicrobial susceptibility testing against the antibiotic-inhibitor combination piperacillin-tazobactam by using the broth microdilution method for Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Piperacillin-Tazobactam concentration range – 0.125/4 to 128/4 mg/L

MIC-Strip Vancomycin/Teicoplanin

Enabling antimicrobial susceptibility testing against the glycopeptide antibiotics vancomycin and teicoplanin by using the broth microdilution method, as advised by EUCAST, for Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium positive for vanA/vanB.

BMD is currently the only reliable method for MIC determination of vancomycin.

Vancomycin concentration range – 0.25 to 4 mg/L

Teicoplanin concentration range – 0.25 to 8 mg/L
