I have been interested in Bruker since my time as a microbiology student because the company is known for its high-quality laboratory equipment. After completing my PhD, I started my professional career as a Project Manager at a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization which produced for example newly developed vaccines for pharmaceutical companies. Following this first work experience, I was very delighted to join Bruker in the Microbiology & Infection Diagnostics (BMID) division.

At Bruker, I work as a Project Coordinator in Research and Development (R&D). In R&D, we are an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians with development sites in Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, and the USA. No matter where we are located, we all share the same passion: we enthusiastically develop new solutions for the rapid identification and analysis of microorganisms. Our products are primarily developed for diagnostic purposes in compliance with IVD-CE and US IVD regulations. Moreover, we provide solutions for research and general-purpose applications in food, pharmaceutical, and veterinary testing.

In addition to my role in R&D, I have been promoted to a leadership position which provided me the opportunity to establish a new working group for the division – Technical Publishing. Throughout this process, my supervisor consistently encouraged me, and I received substantial support from my colleagues. This is what defines Bruker, besides its innovative products: the collegial interaction within the team and the opportunity to improve the organization.

Overall, it is exciting to be part of a team that is working on new, innovative lab solutions. As BMID continues to grow and evolve, I look forward to future opportunities and challenges. The combination of a job where one makes a valuable contribution to healthcare system and collaborates with colleagues from various departments and countries, learning from each other, fascinates me. Our products make a difference as they are essential for the correct treatment of sick people and can even save lives. What could be more motivating than being involved in such product developments and working in an inspiring team? I am proud to be part of Bruker and to be able to make the world a little better together with my colleagues.

  • Books or Movies? I like reading books but prefer movies if I must choose.
  • Morning Person or Night Owl? Definitely a night owl! I'm not a morning person and not approachable before I've had a coffee or two.
  • Name one thing that you cannot live without? My horse and my cats (but I also like my husband 😉)
  • What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working for Bruker? I enjoy spending time in nature, whether it's through horse riding, gardening, or being with family and friends.
  • Favorite food? That's a difficult question, as I like so many different foods like pasta in all its forms, curries, seafood, sushi, etc., but I also love sweets, especially chocolate (I forgot to mention that eating as one of my favorite things I do outside work).
  • What is your motivation in life? Being in a positive, inspiring environment and able to make a difference.
  • Superpower you would choose? Flying! I usually don't get higher than on a horse but flying would be cool.
