My first encounter with Bruker was during my chemistry studies at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, where I worked with a Bruker FTIR spectrometer. Back then, I didn’t know this would be the beginning of a much longer journey. During my PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), I got to work with even more Bruker instruments — NMR, XRD, and FTIR under vacuum — and I was genuinely impressed by the quality and reliability of the technology.

What really stood out to me, though, was the support I received as a PhD student. Bruker’s service engineers and application specialists were always there when I needed help — knowledgeable, approachable, and solution-oriented. That experience stuck with me.

At one of Bruker’s annual user meetings, I heard about an open position in the Applications team. I applied — and that’s how I started in August 2012 as an Application Specialist in the Research Spectroscopy Business Unit. It felt like a perfect fit: I was still close to science, working with researchers, and helping them get the most out of their instruments.

Today, as Head of the Business Unit, I still carry that same mindset. We work closely with our customers, reflect their needs back into product development, and build a global network of collaboration. My goal is to make sure Bruker stays what it’s always been to me: a reliable partner and a driver of innovation in science.

  • Books or Movies? Difficult to decide. I like both.
  • Morning Person or Night Owl? Well, I get up really early, but it takes me a while to be human in the morning.
