Advanced NMR Methods

This 3 day course covers theoretical and experimental details of many aspects of common NMR experiments.

The course structure is lectures followed by laboratory sessions in front of a spectrometer for hands on experience.

Topics:

Pseudo 2D experiments (T1 measurement)
Lock optimization for existing and new solvents
Choosing the appropriate version of the experiment (COSY, TOCSY, NOESY, HSQC, HMBC)
Pulse field gradients and their uses
Shaped pulses (selective and adiabatic)
Non-uniform sampling
Solvent Suppression (Presaturation, Watergate, WET)
Advanced processing (window function, linear prediction, strip transform)
X-Nuclei

Prerequisite:

This course will presume considerable experience with the spectrometer and TopSpin performing multidimensional FT-NMR, such as attendance of the Introduction to TopSpin course or equivalent.
