Why Bruker? Why have you decided to work and keep working here?
My PhD research focused on nanofabrication using AFM and I wanted to find a AFM related job after graduating. Bruker makes great AFM and there was a position in Beijing, so it was a easy decisition for me to join Bruker BNSM team in 2017.

At beginning, I was attracted by high-end technology in Bruker and I was happy to improve myself day after day. I enjoyed the moment that this delicate instrument started to work, which was assembled or recovered step-by-step in my hands. On the other hands, I realized that my work not only satisfy myselft but would faciltate success of customers, I made the decision to keep working in Bruker to achieve my career.

Could you shortly introduce yourself?
I am Liu Yang, the leader of the Customer Service Center of Bruker's Nanosurface and Metrology (BNSM) Division. I was born in Xiantao, Hubei Province, on May 1st, 1988. My major in university was chemistry and my ph.D disseration was about the development of 3D printing technology based on atomic force microscopy (AFM) and its applications in the field of immunology. After obtaining my Ph.D.from the University of California,Davis in 2017, I joined Bruker and am currently responsible for the global technical support and customer training for the AFM product line.

Why is customer success important to you?
AFM utilized a fine probe to scan on sample surface and track its topography by keeping constant force between probe and sample and this technology requires vibration-free environment. As an aged AFMer, I used to sit before this instrument, holding my breath, and begging for nice images revealing on the screen. However, expecation does not bring good results, but great skills and effort does. I can still recall how frustrated it feels after long time struggling with AFM but gains few images, by then I wished some AFM gods would cast magic on my instrument and turn scrambling drwaings to facinating images. Now in Bruker, my old-time wish came true. I found my techinical skills could save customers from struggling and they could utilize our state-of-art instruments to make great achievements, this means double success to me.
