Application Training

QUANTAX EBSD User School

Madison, WI

About the Course

The EBSD (Electron Back Scatter Diffraction) User School is an intensive training program designed to equip both new and experienced users with a comprehensive understanding of EBSD technology and its practical applications. This 2-day workshop, held at our Madison, WI facility, will focus on the fundamentals of EBSD, from the core principles to advanced measurement techniques and data analysis.

Participants will explore essential topics including the theory behind electron backscatter diffraction, instrumentation setup, calibration, and the integration of EBSD with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) for advanced phase identification. The sessions will provide in-depth instruction on optimizing measurement parameters, processing EBSD data, and implementing best practices to achieve accurate results in a variety of materials and sample types.

The workshop will combine theoretical lectures with hands-on practical sessions at the scanning electron microscope (SEM), allowing participants to directly apply their learning. Through live exercises, attendees will gain experience in optimizing EBSD signal quality, mapping, and data interpretation. The program will also address advanced topics such as combined EDS/EBSD analysis, texture analysis, and the application of EBSD in challenging samples.

This user school is designed to enhance the proficiency of EBSD users at all levels, providing the knowledge and skills needed to maximize the capabilities of EBSD technology in their daily work.

Join us to deepen your expertise in EBSD and learn how to unlock the full potential of this powerful analytical technique.
