FT-NIR Process Training Course

Overview

Description:

Our three-day training course educates process NIR users on the details of hardware setup (spectrometers, probes, and accessories), good installation practices, sampling theory, CMET process software, and I/O communications. The course is intended for users of Bruker Optics Matrix-F FT-NIR spectrometers and will focus on the use of CMET (Continuous Measurement Evaluation Transfer) process software within the Bruker Optics Opus software package. The course will consist of lectures, instrument teaching sessions, and troubleshooting sessions intended to address problems that users are experiencing within their own applications.

The course will consist of lectures, laboratory sessions, and demonstrations which emphasize basic principles of process FT-NIR instrumentation, inline installation practices, sampling techniques, the OPUS/CMET PC software, and introductory instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

*Please note this course will NOT focus on Quant or other specific types of method development. For instruction on calibration development please refer to our standard FT-NIR training course.

Prerequisite:

A working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and a familiarity with your Bruker Matrix-F FT-NIR instrument. The basic aspects of the operating system (e.g. copying files, formatting disks, installing printers) can be practiced in the Tutorial provided with the operating system.

The core course will run from Tuesday to Thursday. Classes start daily at 9:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM.

Laptops:

You may bring your laptop and Bruker personnel will install a temporary copy of CMET/OPUS on your computer so that you can use it during the course. The computer must have Windows 7 or 10 and you must have administrative rights to the laptop to enable OPUS to be installed properly. Sufficient free space must be available to install CMET/OPUS. Access to a laptop is not a requirement to attend the course.

We will be serving lunch during the training courses, if you have any food allergies or special restrictions, please let us know in advance.
