Monitor Living Cells
InsightCell™ is based on the established InsightMR™ platform, bringing Bruker’s trusted expertise in flow NMR to the study of living cells. It is designed for real-time on-line metabolite monitoring and enables accurate quantification of dynamic metabolic changes. InsightCell offers a powerful window into cellular function while keeping your bioprocess running continuously.
InsightMR is a software platform for real-time analysis of chemical and bioprocesses using on-line and in-line NMR. It allows on-the-fly adjustment of acquisition parameters, supports a wide range of experiments, and handles large series of spectra efficiently. Data are seamlessly transferred to Mnova for further analysis, with results delivered as ready-to-use kinetic and waterfall plots.

Metabolomic discrimination of various mitochondrial defects presents a significant challenge. This study describes an NMR-based bioreactor system that enables real-time investigation of intra- and extracellular metabolism in perfused fibroblasts.
This study presents a perfused NMR bioreactor system enabling real-time, quantitative analysis of intra- and extracellular metabolites in human fibroblasts. Using diffusion NMR, 35 metabolites were detected, with 19 successfully separated by compartment. The approach demonstrates sensitivity to metabolic changes under different media and flow rates.
This study presents a reproducible NMR bioreactor system for simultaneous 1H-NMR metabolite profiling and 19F-NMR oxygenation monitoring in 3D collagen-based cell cultures. A standardized setup enables dynamic assessment of mitochondrial respiration and metabolic flux under perfusion
This study demonstrates the feasibility of real-time metabolic monitoring in 3D cell cultures using the commercially available InsightCell™ tool, enabling reproducible glucose and oxygen measurements over 12 hours. Metabolic interventions triggered rapid, reversible shifts between aerobic respiration and anaerobic glycolysis.
