D8 ADVANCE, X-ray diffraction

XRD data are typically collected in one direction, 2Theta. Simultaneously collecting data along a second dimension, the Gamma direction, can speed up data collection and provide additional information about the properties of crystalline samples, such as texture, residual stress, grain size and epitaxial relations.

  • LYNXEYE XE-T for 2D data collection with ultimate energy resolution
  • PILATUS3 hybrid-pixel detector with larger active area for extended 2Theta and Gamma coverage
  • XRD² with all common wavelengths, including hard radiation e.g. Mo and Ag
  • Variable sample-to-detector distance to balance coverage and resolution
  • Accurate sample positioning with automatic height alignment
