Automation & Productivity Solutions

Automate and Accelerate Your Crystallography Research

Crystallography labs can only be as efficient as their workflows, with manual steps such as sample management and crystal centering eating into expert time.

Our fully integrated automation and productivity solutions are designed to address these bottlenecks directly - from the automation of sample handling and crystal centering, to in-situ crystal screening directly on crystallization plates.

Bruker's solutions reduce hands-on time at the instrument and accelerate data collection, meaning crystallographers can focus on what's important - the science.

Automated Cryogenic Sample Handling & Tracking

Manual sample handling and tracking is one of the most time-consuming steps in any crystallography workflow.

The automation of these steps means the diffractometer can run uninterrupted - enabling your experts to focus on data evaluation and solving structures instead.

SCOUT Automated Sample Management

SCOUT is a 6-axis robotic sample management system for the automated loading, centering, and sequential measurement of multiple crystals. SCOUT reduces hands-on time at the diffractometer, allowing experts to focus on the data.

SCOUT maintains a cryogenic environment at 80 K. This low-temperature control improves measurement quality and preserves sample integrity over the course of automated screening.

In addition to gains in efficiency and time, SCOUT minimizes human error, improving consistency and reproducibility across measurements whilst also protecting small, fragile or temperature-sensitive crystals from handling damage.

Measurement queues can be configured, system status monitored, and structured reports exported through an intuitive, customizable user interface designed for multi‑user laboratories.

SCOUT is compatible with the D8 VENTURE

Automated, AI-Assisted Crystal Centering

Manual crystal centering is a repetitive and time-consuming task that introduces variability across measurements.

Automating this step improves reproducibility and ensures consistent alignment and data, regardless of operator experience.

Automated Goniometer Head (AGH)

The Automated Goniometer Head (AGH) uses automated, AI-assisted X-ray-based alignment to automatically center crystals for measurement. Centering can be executed in software using just a click or run in fully automated workflows.

By removing operator-dependent variability, the AGH improves reproducibility, reduces hands-on time, and accelerates throughput for both routine and advanced crystallography.

The AGH is compatible with the D8 QUEST and the D8 VENTURE.

In-Situ Crystallography: Screen Crystals Where They Grow

The harvesting of crystals for single-crystal X-ray diffraction introduces handling damage, increases the preparation time, and risks the loss of fragile samples before measurements are even able to be performed.

In-situ crystallography involves screening crystals directly from the plate for faster workflows and more reliable results from sensitive samples.

ISX Stage

The ISX Stage is a motorized stage for in-situ crystallography.

The stage enables the collection of diffraction data directly from crystals grown in plates or capillaries, eliminating the need for harvesting.

This approach benefits from reduced handling damage, faster screening, and improved success rates - making the ISX Stage a valuable tool for crystallographers working in both routine and advanced structural studies.
