Bruker-AXS & UNC Symposium

We're excited to announce our 4th Annual Bruker-AXS/UNC Symposium and Workshop, at UNC on Friday, August 7. This year’s theme is Protein Crystallography for the Next Generation. The symposium is designed to foster interdisciplinary discussions and meaningful exchange across a broad range of scientific backgrounds and interests. This is a perfect opportunity to expand your academic and professional network.

While this year’s symposium focuses on macromolecules, the morning workshop will be useful for both macromolecular and small-molecule audiences. We will be using the PROTEUM software for macromolecular crystallography and the APEX software for small molecules. In the afternoon, we’ve arranged an outstanding lineup of speakers. We’ll also feature a sponsored session on advances in instrumentation and home-source capabilities for crystallography.

Morning Workshop

The workshop will have two concurrent sessions:

• Small molecule crystallography:
  APEX6 Workshop - Michael Ruf (Bruker AXS)
  (Processing and structure analysis of MicroED data)
• Macromolecular crystallography:
  PROTEUM5 Workshop - Stuart Endo-Streeter (UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine)
  (Data collection, reduction, and Image conversion)

Both sessions are designed for new and intermediate-level users of crystallographic methods, and will focus on the D8 VENTURE available in the UNC X-ray Core Laboratory – making it a great opportunity for anyone interested in applying X-ray diffraction techniques in their research or professional work.
