Elemental Analysis of Grains & Oils

Screening Grains for Heavy Metal Contamination

Heavy metal contamination in grains, such as arsenic in rice or lead in cereals ,poses serious health risks and is strictly regulated worldwide. XRF is a fast, nondestructive method to screen grains for toxic elements, delivering accurate results without complex sample preparation. Typical targets include arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and mercury (Hg).

Compositional Analysis of Edible Oils and Biofuels

The fast, reliable elemental analysis for edible oil and biofuel refineries is made easy with the S2 POLAR. Using polarized EDXRF, key elements such as phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), and chlorine (Cl) are monitored to ensure proper process control and compliance with global standards.

Total phosphorus measurement helps track phospholipid removal, while key elements such as potassium (K), calcium (Ca), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu) can be quantified in one fast measurement.

Oil & Moisture Analysis 

TD-NMR combines rapid, simultaneous analysis of oil and moisture, with easy sample preparation (no grinding) and simple calibration. High accuracy and reproducibility, about 2 to 3-fold better than wet chemistry or competing technologies. Oil and moisture in seeds are analyzed according to international standard methods. No dependency on color, surface, and penetration depth.
