Nanoscale Characterization of Glass and Ceramic Surfaces

Learn about Bruker tools and techniques for the nanoscale characterization of glass and ceramic surfaces

Historically, the properties of glass/ceramic surfaces have been difficult to accurately characterize.

In this three-part, two-hour workshop the Bruker applications team showcases our complete range of high-performance metrology techniques enabling researchers to obtain the nanoscale surface properties of glass and ceramic products, including:

  • Nanoscale investigation of stanglass & ceramic materials (feat. gorilla glass, float glass, metallic glass);
  • Measurements on silicon coatings; and
  • Thin film analysis.

Featuring LIVE demos on cutting-edge Bruker AFM, nanoindentation, and 3D optical profiling instruments.

Leading Edge Instruments for the Characterization of Glass and Ceramic Surfaces

Bruker is dedicated to providing a complete range of high-performance metrology techniques for the nanometer-scale surface characterization of glass and ceramic products. Join us for this virtual Surface Lab session where we will present a range of characterization techniques, their features, capabilities, and applications.

The following techniques are discussed and demonstrated in the three featured sessions:

  • Atomic Force Microscopy: For high-resolution, topographical, nanomechanical, nanoelectrical, and nanoelectrochemical characterization of materials.
  • Nanoindentation: Nano-mechanical characterization using nano-indentation methods.
  • Optical Profilometry: For 2D roughness surface characterization and advanced 3D mapping and measurement of thin film thickness, stress, surface roughness and form.
