Endocannabinoids (eCBs) are endogenous lipid messengers that interact with cannabinoid receptors CB1/CB2 and play a critical role in the central nervous system, often altered in neurological disorders. The low concentration in tissue posts a challenge to ionize and spatially analyze these compounds. Applying a laser-induced post-ionization (MALDI-2) approach improves sensitivity and limit of detection. After optimization, this method was applied to a mouse model of mild traumatic brain injury.
