Beamline Solutions for Crystallography

Single-Crystal X-ray Diffractometers Providing Beamline Capabilities

The Beamline Solutions for Crystallography use a liquid-metal jet X-ray source to deliver beamline-class performance to the home laboratory.

Our Beamline Solutions use Ga radiation.

Our Beamline Solutions for Crystallography are powered by a METALJET MC X‑ray source which delivers exceptional X-ray intensity and data quality.

METALJET MC uses a high-speed liquid metal jet as the anode to deliver an unprecedented X-ray intensity in a stable microfocus beam, enabling experiments that would otherwise only be possible at synchrotron facilities.

Our Beamline Solutions are made for the most challenging crystallography including proteins and other biological macromolecules, strongly disordered structures, and metal-organic frameworks.

Our Beamline Class single-crystal X-ray diffractometers are available built to your specification or as a pre-configured flagship solution - the D8 VENTURE METALJET.

Our Beamline Solutions for single-crystal X-ray diffraction use a liquid-metal-jet X-ray source with gallium radiation.

Choosing the Right Wavelength for Your Application

Our Beamline Solutions are equipped with a liquid-metal-jet gallium (Ga) source.

Ga radiation benefits from both excellent penetration and reduced absorption effects, supporting reliable data collection from the most challenging samples and crystallographic experiments that push beyond routine measurements.

For help in choosing the right wavelength view our "which wavelength?" guide or contact a Bruker expert.

Gallium radiation excels in challenging applications thanks to its excellent penetration with low absoprtion effects.

D8 VENTURE METALJET: Beamline Capabilities In-House

The D8 VENTURE METALJET is the flagship configuration of our Beamline Solutions for single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It is an ultra-high-performance system designed for the most-demanding crystallographic experiments.

Bringing Synchrotron Performance to Your Home Lab

The D8 VENTURE METALJET combines the D8 VENTURE platform with the unmatched intensity of the METALJET MC X‑ray source to deliver synchrotron‑quality results.

The high brightness of the Ga beam enables faster data collection, an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio and more reliable measurements even from small, weakly diffracting crystals.

The exceptionally high performance of the D8 VENTURE METALJET means it is well-suited for the analysis of challenging targets such as proteins, highly porous structures and more.

  • Automated sample management using the optional SCOUT system.
  • Perform in-situ crystallography with the optional ISX Stage.
The D8 VENTURE METALJET's synchrotron-like performance means the structure of even the most-challenging crystals can now be solved in the home lab.

Configure Your Own Diffractometer: Beamline Solutions

Our modular diffractometer platforms can be built custom according to your lab's specific needs, with your choice of X-ray radiation, goniometer, software, devices for non-ambient crystallography and more.

This configurator is for our Beamline Solutions diffractometers, which are equipped with a liquid-metal-jet X-ray source.

Testimonials

The Bruker Metaljet X-ray source generates X-rays with a liquid metal-jet source, which overcomes the brightness limitations of conventional rotating anodes. This is basically comparable to second generation synchrotron sources!

Case Studies

The use of a CHAPERONE has enabled our team to determine the molecular structure and absolute configuration of two chiral reaction products difficult to crystallize. The chaperone is remarkably easy to handle and can produce high-quality multi-component crystals overnight. One major advantage is that it can be used in any standard R&D laboratory without the need for any additional equipment. This approach offers a valuable additional crystallization option that we, as a service facility, can provide to our colleagues in synthetic laboratories. It is especially useful whenever challenging samples require a specialized solution to acquire single crystals for diffraction.
