UTRECHT, The Netherlands, – July 10, 2022 – Bruker is delighted to announce that Professor Harald Schwalbe of the Goethe University in Frankfurt Germany is this year’s winner of the prestigious Richard R. Ernst Prize in Magnetic Resonance.
Professor Schwalbe is being recognized for his seminal contributions to the development and application of original methods in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy; in particular for the new insight that he and his group have shed on the fields of RNA and DNA folding and regulation, for the elucidation of the folding pathways that ordered and disordered proteins exhibit in vitro, and for ingenious new proposals on how to use NMR for drug screening and drug design leading to practical useful applications. Professor Schwalbe is also being praised for his efforts in the creation of the international scientific “collaboratorium”, to unravel molecular aspects related to the COVID-19 pandemic by NMR and other methods.
