Introduction to Topspin - on line in English

General Information

Theoretical and practical course on the basic use of Bruker NMR spectrometers. The experimental sessions will be carried out using a Bruker Avance 400 MHz NMR spectrometer equipped with a multinuclear probe for high-resolution measurements. The management software is TopSpin.

The course will be done on line using MSTeam in 4 sessions from 10,30 to 15,30 CET and with 1 hour break from 12,30 to 13,30 The sessions will be held in 4 consecutive days.

Topics covered

• Preliminary operations, shimming, probe tuning, pulse calibration
• Use of TopSpin
• Setup and acquisition of a proton spectrum
• Spectrum processing
• Setup of basic experiments on heteronuclei (¹³C)
• Configuration of the discussed experiments in automation

Course Objectives

After completing this course, the participant will be able to independently acquire, process, and analyze a proton spectrum of solution samples. The participant will also be capable of performing preliminary operations such as probe tuning, optimization of field homogeneity, and calibration of the 90° pulse.

Prerequisites

The course is open to all Bruker users based in Bosnia,  Croatia, Greece, Malta and Slovenia.
