Glycans and Glycopeptides

Glycans and glycopeptides are among the most challenging PTMs to characterize. In nature, glycans frequently occur attached to proteins or lipids. They play a fundamental role in many biological processes, such as in cellular recognition and immune response.

The characterization of glycosylated structure is one of the great challenges in protein characterization. Bruker provides GlycoQuest an innovative software solution for this purpose. It is integrated in the bioinformatics platform proteinscape, and it allows to identify free glycans as well as glycans attached to proteins. This capability is fully integrated in any PRIME solution.
