The Hysitron PicoIndenter PI 89 was designed for a seamless integration with eFlash EBSD detectors retrofitted with OPTIMUS 2 head to provide ideal conditions during in-situ experiments. Electron transparent samples tensile tested using the PI89 can now be observed in close to real-time thanks to OPTIMUS 2’ ability to acquire BF-like images at rates of up to 125,000 pixles/second. The new ESPRIT TRM feature enables automatic acquisition and saving of time resolved high contrast images and orientation maps during in-situ tensile tests.
