The compact microflex LT/SH is a linear-mode MALDI-TOF System. The bench-top design allows for high MALDI performance while using only little laboratory space . 

The microflex LRF is the best in class bench-top MALDI-TOF and has been designed for more demanding applications. With its linear and reflector modes of operation it addresses a wide range of applications.

The microflex LRF with 15k resolution in reflectron mode handles a wide range of analytical challenges and provides linear-reflectron based operating modes. It is easy to use with intuitive operations that are ideal for non-expert users and busy multi-instrument labs.

Increased mass resolution and accuracy

Highest resolution across an extended mass range is enabled by the ion source with its proprietary panoramic PAN™ pulsed ion extraction. The best mass resolution of a bench-top MALDI TOF is achieved due to an independent reflector power supply, the integrated high performance MCP detector and the high-precision digital analogue converters. 

Maximized up-time

The oil free vacuum system is fully integrated and noise reduced. The microflex LRF can be operated at a wide range of power supplies e.g. 110V or 240V. Stable ion generation is realized by a 60 Hz Fiber-optic laser delivery – this robust arrangement guarantees highest up-times also for multi-Instrument labs.

Flexibility and Sensitivity

The instrument’s design with its reflector and linear mode operation allows for highest flexibility for various analyte types, such as oligonucleotides, proteins and polymers. In linear mode the system can be run in positive and negative ion mode. The gridless design of the reflector enables unmatched sensitivity. Bruker’s proprietary AnchorChip™ technology further increases the sensitivity by a factor of 10.

microflex™ LRF -Technical details

The microflex LRF can be operated in positive and negative ion mode using the linear detector. The saturation free detector technology enables highest dynamic range and superior performance for high mass detection. Ion generation is achieved using a 60 Hz N2-Cartridge-Laser including variable power attenuator and UV optics The laser operates at 337 nm. The microScout™ ion source uses the exact dimensions of 1/4 microtiter plate with a medium area target plate (54 mm x 36 mm). The pumping system is fully integrated into the system and comprises a vacuum measurement and control unit as well as a 70 l/sec turbo-molecular pump and a diaphragm-pump.

The microflex LT/SH is a compact linear-mode bench-top MALDI-TOF system designed as an easy-to-use, but high performance solution for basic applications.

Both microflex LT/SH mass spectrometers are an integral part of the MALDI Biotyper solution for fast and reliable identification of microorganisms.

The systems feature the patented PAN™ technology for high mass resolution within a compact form. Designed as bench-top solutions, they can be easily integrated into every laboratory.

The self-cleaning MALDI PerpetualTM ion source permits continuous high performance with minimized maintenance requirements. The push-button, IR-laser cleaning is easy to perform and takes just 15 minutes. Intervals for planned maintenances are therefore longer and downtime periods shorter.

This affordable, high value bench-top MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer is designed for a number of routine applications in protein and small molecule analysis as well as microbiology. This instrument benefits from its gridless, self-cleaning ion source, providing excellent sensitivity in positive ion mode. Operating under the integrated Compass™ software platform for intuitive operation, especially by non-expert users and in multi-instrument laboratories, the linear-mode microflex LT/SH is a robust and easy-to-use system for many clinical research and life-science laboratories.
