Worldwide, serious concern has arisen about the increased incidence of learning and developmental disorders in children. In this webinar Prof. Pim Leonards will discuss workflows to perform target and non-target metabolomics, and provide some examples to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of observed effects of biocide exposure in rats in relation to behaviour and cognitive changes. He will also discuss how we find compounds that cause toxicity in the environment and humans. For these studies LC-HRTOF-MS was used in combination with MetaboScape® and TASQ® software packages to map the biochemical networks affected. One of the interesting findings was that effects were sex specific and part of these differences could be explained by metabolomics.
